Adam alaihis salam (about 5872-4942 BC) was the first man sent by
Allah SWT to earth, together with his wife named Hawa. Adam alaihis salam among
the 25 prophets in the Qur'an.
Adam alaihis salam lived for 930 years after creation (about 3760-2830
BC), while Hawa was born when Adam alaihis salam was 130 years old. Qur'an
contains the story of Adam alaihis salam in several letters, among them
Al-Baqarah verses 30-38 and al-A'raaf verses 11-25. Children of Adam alaihis
salam and Hawa were born twins, namely, every baby boy born simultaneously with
a baby girl. Adam alaihis salam married his son to the daughter did not twins
of him.
According to Ibn Humayd, Ibn Ishaq, and Salamah children of Adam alaihis
salam are: Qabil and Iqlima, Habil and Labuda, Sith and Azura, Ashut and his
sister, Ayad and his sister, Balagh and his sister, Athati and his sister,
Tawbah and brother daughter, Darabi and his sister, and his sister Hadaz, Yahus
and his sister, Sandal and his sister, and baraq and sister. The overall total
number of 40 children of Adam alaihis salam.
Adam
alaihis salam Form
According to a hadith narrated by Imam Bukhari, Adam alaihis salam has
the posture of the body with a height of 60 feet (approximately 27.432 meters).
The same thing also narrated by tradition Imam Muslim and Imam Ahmad, but in a
different sanad.
The figure of Adam alaihis salam is described very civilized at all, has
a high science and he is not the ancient creature. He came from heaven
civilized progress. Down to earth as a human can be from a civilization far
more advanced and far more intelligent than human civilization until whenever,
because that God appointed him as caliph (leader) in the earth.
In the picture he is being extremely intelligent, highly exalted by God,
has the advantages of being perfect than others previously and was created in
the best shape. In accordance with Surah Al Israa’ verse 70, which reads:
"... And indeed We have honored the children of Adam alaihis salam,
We carried them on land and at sea, We give them sustenance of good things, and
We favored them with a perfect excess over many We have created (Al Israa’
[17]: 70) ".
In surah At-Tiin verse 4, which reads: "We created man in the best
possible shape. (At-Tiin [95]: 4) ".
Based on the story in the Qur'an, when Adam alaihis salam's new finish
is created by Allah, all the angels prostrated to him on the orders of God,
because it's glory and brilliance, making it the creature has a very high
degree in the middle of the creatures that ever existed. Completely different
from the ancient human illustration by Charles Darwin, who described walking on
four legs and into the ancient creature dressed lightly.
Creation
of Adam alaihis salam
Before Adam alaihis salam was created, God created the heavens and the
earth content; mountains, sea, plants, animals and stars, the sun as a heat
source and the moon as a light dinner. Heaven and earth were created by God in
six days or periods. While one day or period in the same god with a thousand
years of human calculation. God almighty if want something enough said:
"Kun" (Be) then become what He wants.
After creating the heavens and the earth that God created creatures
called angels. Angels made of nur or light. Angels are created beings are
subject and obedient and always loyal to him. Angels do not have the appetite,
not eating and not sleeping, did not sin. Not manifold male or female and have
a distinctive nature is the supernatural that can not be seen of men.
Jinn and demons created from a very hot fire. Jin had sex male and
female. Jin there is obedient and there are rebelled against the commands of
Allah. Jin apostate and rebellious commands of God called Satan. Iblis and his
offspring are being very rebellious and wicked. There is no kindness at all.
Satan work is tempting man to get lost and fall into the valley of sin. Devil
demand to live in the world until the Day of Judgment is granted by God.
After God created the earth, the heavens, and the angels, God willed to
create other creatures that will be believed to inhabit, filling, and care for
the earth residence. When God told the angels of His will to create human
beings, they are concerned about the creature will rebel against His provision
and do mischief in the land. The angels said to God:
"Why do you want to make (caliph) on earth the people who will make
mischief therein and shed blood, while we always exalt with the praise you and
purify you?" (Q.S. Al-Baqarah [2]: 30).
God then said to dispel doubts his angels:
"Behold, I know what you do not know." (Q.S. Al-Baqarah [2]:
30).
Then Adam alaihis salam was created by God out of a lump of land. Once
perfected form, then breathed soul into it so that he can move and become a
perfect man. Initially Adam alaihis salam as placed in heaven, but the exposed
lies of the devil and then lowered into the earth with his wife for denying the
provision of God.
Adam alaihis salam descended on earth not because deny rules, but from
the moment will be created, Allah has appointed Adam alaihis salam as a
vicegerent on earth. so although it does not violate the provisions of (Allah) Adam
alaihis salam will remain lowered to the ground as the first caliph.
Adam alaihis salam is a prophet and also the first man who holds the
caliph of Allah the exalted and the exalted rank. He was sent to warn his
grandchildren in order to worship God. Among the many their grandchildren,
there are devout and some are defiant.
Vanity of
Devil (Satan)
When all the creatures of the heavenly host prostrate witnessed the
majesty of God, only the devil (satan) who rebelled and was reluctant to obey
God's command because he felt he was more noble, more mainstream, and greater
than Adam alaihis salam. That's because the devil was created from the element
of fire, while Adam alaihis salam is just off the ground and mud. Pride will be
the origin of making arrogant and reluctant to bow in honor of Adam alaihis
salam like the other heavenly beings.
Caused by the arrogance that, then Allah punish the demon expelled from
heaven and take it out of line with the angels will curse and the curse
attached to him until doomsday future. In addition, he has secured as
inhabitants of hell is eternal.
Satan proudly accept the punishment and he just ask Him for eternal life
given to the apocalypse. Allah allowed his request. Without saying thanks and
grateful for the provision of guarantees that, in fact demons threaten to
mislead Adam alaihis salam so that he expelled from Paradise. He also vowed to
persuade their offspring from all directions to leave the straight path and
take the wrong path with him. God then says that Satan will not be able to
mislead His servants who believe wholeheartedly.
Knowledge
of Adam alaihis salam
God wants to eliminate the stigma of the angels to Adam alaihis salam
and convince them of the truth of His wisdom which states Adam alaihis salam as
ruler of the earth, then taught Adam alaihis salam the names of objects in the
universe are then exhibited in the presence of the angels. The angels could not
answer God's word to name the objects that are in front of them and acknowledge
their inability to say that they do not know anything except what He taught.
Adam alaihis salam then commanded by God to tell the names of the
objects to the angels, and having been told by Adam alaihis salam, God said to
them that only he who knows the secrets of heaven and earth and knows all
things visible and invisible.
This shows that humans have a sense of dynamic. While angels have only
static sense so that only know the things that are taught directly by God
alone.
Adam
alaihis salam Inhabiting Heaven
Adam alaihis salam was given the place of God in heaven and created Hawa
to accompany him, to be a friend of life, relieve loneliness, and complementary
nature to produce offspring. According to the story of the scholars, Hawa were
created by God from one of Adam alaihis salam's ribs left when he was sleeping
so that when he woke up, Hawa was at his side. God said to Adam alaihis salam:
"O Adam alaihis salam, live in by you and your wife this paradise,
and eat the foods that many more good anywhere you like, and do not approach
this tree, which causes you include people who do wrong." (Q.S. Al-Baqarah
[2]: 35).
Satan's
Distractions
In accordance with the threats uttered when expelled by God from heaven
as a result of its defiance, devil started designing the scenario to mislead Adam
alaihis salam and Hawa were living happily in heaven serene and peaceful.
Persuasion began when he told them that he was their friend who wanted
to give advice and guidance for their kindness and happiness. All means and
fine words used by the devil to make Adam alaihis salam and Hawa persuaded. He
whispered to them that the prohibition of God to them to eat the fruit from the
forbidden tree is because they will live eternally as an angel when to eat it.
The continuous persuasion given to Adam alaihis salam and Hawa that they
finally persuaded and eat the fruit of the forbidden tree. Be they violate the
provisions of Allah so that He lowered them to the ground. Allah says:
"Get thee down! Some of you an enemy to the other, and to your
dwelling place on earth, and the pleasures of life until the appointed
time." (Q.S. Al-Baqarah [2]: 36).
Hearing the word of God, Adam alaihis salam and Hawa realized that they
had been seduced by seduction demon that gets great sin it. After their
repentance be accepted, Allah says:
"Get thee down from heaven! Then if it comes my instructions to
you, anyone who follows My guidance, surely there is no concern over them and
not (also) they grieve." (Q.S. Al-Baqarah [2]: 38).
Location
Adam alaihis salam And Hawa Down To Earth
Come down to earth and they both learn a new way of life that is
different from the situation of living in paradise. They must take life while
with various ups and downs while continuing to produce offspring that diverse
forms.
In the book ad-Durrul Mantsur, mentioned "So we said, 'Come down
you ...", from Ibn Abbas, namely: Adam alaihis salam, Hawa, Satan, and
snakes. Then they descend to earth in an area named "Dujjana", which
is located between Mecca and Ta'if. Some think Adam alaihis salam fell in
Shafa, while Hawa at Marwah. It has been mentioned from Ibn Abbas also that Adam
alaihis salam down on Indian soil.
Narrated Ibn Sa'd and Ibn Asakir from Ibn Abbas, he said, Adam alaihis
salam descended in India, while Hawa in Jeddah. Then Adam alaihis salam went in
search of Hawa so she went Jam'an (ie Muzdalifah or al-Masy'ar). Then followed
(izdalafat) by Hawa. Therefore, the place called Muzdalifah.
Also narrated by Thabrani and Nua'im in the book al-Hilyah, and Ibn
Asakir of Abu Hurairah, he recalled, the Messenger of Allah said: "Adam
alaihis salam fell in India." While Ibn Asakir mention when Adam alaihis
salam down to earth, he was down in India. Thabrani in the history of Abdullah
bin Umar says: "When Allah sent Adam alaihis salam, He was down on Indian
soil. Then he went to Mecca, to then go to the Sham (Syria) and died
there." (HR. Thabrani).
Narrations of the global mentioned that Adam alaihis salam down to
earth, she fell in India (Peninsula Syrindib, Ceylan) on the mountain named
Baudza. In the book Rihlah, Ibn Batuthah said: "From up on the peninsula,
the other is not my intention, but visited al-qadam al-Karimah. Adam alaihis
salam comes when they are in the middle of the peninsula Ceylan". Shaykh
Abu Abdullah bin Khafif said: "He is the man who first opened the way to visit
al-qadam."
On earth they have to face a formidable challenge to sustain life. The
face of the earth that has not been touched by human hands is very scary
situation. Towering mountains, steep ravines gaping, giant trees grow
scattered, ferocious animals both large and small roam everywhere.
Over the years the two are seeking and wandering from one place to
another. Their journey is very difficult and dangerous. Suffering and misery
they really feel. Finally they met each other in the field of Arafat after
searching for about forty years.
How thrilled Adam alaihis salam saw that his wife had been exhausted.
Retracing the difficult path, miserable and cruel. They hugged, cried with
emotion.
Now begins a new chapter for the life of human embryo. Adam alaihis
salam and Hawa lived in a cave, large and wide. The cave is located on a
plateau, not easily attacked by wild animals.
With the provision that has been given by God, Adam alaihis salam began
to manage the surrounding nature. Harsh natural challenges have moved the minds
of Adam alaihis salam in order to sustain life with better conditions.
The
First Murder On Earth
Time passed. In the first year since they met Hawa gave birth to a pair
of twins, male and female. The man named Qabil, whose daughter called Iqlima.
In the following year another pair of twins were born, namely Habil and
Labuda. Adam alaihis salam and Hawa hope of the four first child will conceive
the breed filling God's earth.
Under the care of her father loving, four children grows rapidly. Adam
alaihis salam and Hawa not discriminate affection among children. That women be
educated in accordance with the nature of women that help mothers and take care
of the household and doing things into a woman's task. Being that men are
looking for work in accordance with their individual talents.
When adulthood God gave instructions to Adam alaihis salam in order to
marry the son of his daughter. Habil mated with Qabil sister named Labuda. Habil
being mated with Qabil sister named Iqlima. This is the law that has been
appointed. In this way Adam alaihis salam conveyed to her son and daughter. But
Qabil rejected it outright. He does not want to be mated with the Labuda ugly,
not beautiful as his own sister is Iqlima.
Qabil apparently has persuaded seduction of Satan, he would follow his
own desires rather than their minds. He would not accept the specified law of
Allah.
Adam alaihis salam is the father of wisdom. He continues to advise Qabil
to accept the decision that comes from God, but Qabil still refused. Finally Adam
alaihis salam commanded Qabil and Habil offered sacrifices. Let God alone will
determine that issue.
Then in the presence of all members of the family of Adam alaihis salam,
Qabil and Habil offered sacrifices on the hill. However, after the sacrifices
carried out, it appears a big fire which grabbed sacrificial offering of Habil.
Sacrifice while offering Qabil remain intact, meaning the sacrifice not
accepted.
Qabil was very disappointed to see that reality. He was forced to accept
the decision even though his heart secretly still not willing to accept. Then
the marriage was taken away. Qabil with Labuda, Habil with Iqlima.
Qabil tried to bury the disappointment and hurt for several years, he
finally could not resist. One day he went to Habil. The devil has taken
possession of his soul. By the time he hit her off guard Habil with a big
stick. Precisely at the head of Habil. Habil was dead.
All nature seemed to feel sorrow for the death of Habil. Medium Qabil
feel confused. He did not know what to do with the bodies of his brother. He
walked to and fro, carrying the body of his brother. He began to regret. The
tears with tears.
God inspired the Qabil through a pair of crows. There is a pair of crows
to be scrambling to eat the corpse of Habil. Both birds are fought until one of
them dies. Crows were still alive then dug a hole with his beak, a dead crow then
enter into the hole and then covering.
After burying the bodies Habil, he still felt confused. He did not dare
to go home, his father would have to question where it goes Habil. Guilt has
made him fear itself. Moreover, from the top of the hill he saw his father came
over. Qabil increasingly fear. Finally, he fled. He entered the jungle, climb mountains
and down the ravine.
Adam alaihis salam and Hawa are very sorry for what happened. but he
resigned to God and accept it as fate and his will. He prayed to order endowed
with patience and firmness of faith and awareness to repent and seek forgiveness
for forgiveness for his son Qabil.
